2015 Celebrity Holiday Engagements
From Tara Lipinski to Eva Longoria, it's been a busy month for star engagements.
-- For several celebrities, Christmas came early this year, along with the ultimate gift: a diamond engagement ring.
Olympic skater Tara Lipinski is the latest star to get engaged this month.
"My life changed forever last night," the 33-year-old former figure skater wrote on Instagram Tuesday, alongside a photo of her embracing fiancé Todd Kapostasy while flashing her diamond ring. "I feel so lucky that I get to spend the rest of my life loving my best friend and love of my life. I've had many monumental happy days in my life but this by far is my happiest. I love you."
Kapostasy, a producer for Fox Sports, followed up with a post of his own.
"I've never been more happy in my entire life then when @taralipinski said yes to marrying me last night. She's the most beautiful, passionate, talented, and loyal person I've ever met, and I'm the luckiest guy on the planet right now," he wrote alongside a photo of them kissing.
The couple met seven months ago when Kapostasy won a sports Emmy Award. Lipinski presented him with his award.
"I didn't think much of it -- aside from the fact that she looked great in her blue dress," he wrote on Instagram. "The next day I discovered that my Aunt had become friends with Tara while covering the Olympics a few years back. It took a little convincing, but @cjansing eventually agreed to introduce us. I'd imagine there are a thousand things that had to happen to get us on that stage together back in May. Crazy how life works."
Lipinski later shared how Kapostasy proposed to her Monday night in New York City, along with a snapshot of the holiday window he had specially designed at the Plaza Hotel for the occasion.
"Here's how it happened," Lipinski wrote. "Todd knows I love holiday window displays so after a beautiful dinner and on our way for a drink @theplazahotel he said there was a window there he thought I'd like to see."
She continued, "He somehow convinced the hotel to let him take one of their displays over and this painting of him proposing to me in front of my home in California was inside. By the time I turned to him he was on one knee."
She added, "This is one surprise and Christmas that I will never forget.
She's not the only star who will have more to celebrate this Christmas. Check out these other couples who got engaged this December:
Sasha Pieterse and Hudson Sheaffer
Tuesday was a big day for celebrity engagements. "Pretty Little Liars" star Sasha Pieterse, 19, shared the news of her engagement the same day as Lipinski.
"The best day of my life!" she wrote on Instagram next to a black and white photo of her embracing fiancé Hudson Sheaffer, 26.
Hudson reciprocated with a color photo of him on bended knee as he popped the question to Pieterse.
"She said yes!!!" he wrote, thanking photographer Jonnie + Garrett for capturing the moment.
The couple began appearing on each other's Instagram posts a little over three years ago and are proud parents of Great Danes, Lady and Levi.
Eva Longoria and Jose Antonio Baston
Eva Longoria got engaged to fiancé Jose Antonio Baston while they were on vacation in Dubai two weeks ago.
"Ummmm so this happened....#Engaged #Dubai #Happiness," she wrote next to a picture showing off her pink-toned engagement ring.
Baston, 47, president of multimedia company Televisa, and Longoria, 40, first went public with their romance in November 2013.

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd
Earlier this month, former "Dancing With the Stars" pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd got engaged after he popped the question on stage following a performance of his dance show “Sway” in Miami.
"She said 'yes,'" Maks wrote, alongside a photo of the big moment.
"For years I knew Peta is the one for me,” Chmerkovskiy said in a statement. “She is the perfect fit with my family and she has made me a very happy man.”
"I couldn't have been more surprised,” Murgatroyd said. "Maks’ romantic proposal is something I will cherish for the rest of my life. I'm excited for the next chapter in our lives and to plan the wedding of my dreams with Maks.”
