'7th Heaven' Actress Sarah Goldberg Dead at 40
Goldberg played Sarah Glass, a medical student who married Matt Camden.
-- Sarah Goldberg, the actress who played Sarah Glass Camden in "7th Heaven," died on Sept. 27, her mother told the Chicago Sun-Times. She was 40.
"She went to sleep and didn’t wake up,” her mother, Judy Goldberg, told the newspaper.
Goldberg grew up in Chicago, and planned to study medicine until a chance cameo in the 1997 movie, "My Best Friends' Wedding," made her rethink her career path.
After appearing in "Training Day," Goldberg landed her biggest role, as a medical student and rabbi's daughter who fell for Matt Camden in "7th Heaven."
"She wanted to go to medical school, and instead for three years she played a doctor on '7th Heaven,'" her mother recalled. "She would walk down the street here, or places in Wisconsin, and people would come up to her and say, ‘You played the daughter!'"
According to Goldberg's mother, while an autopsy failed to determine a cause of death, a heart ailment is suspected. The actress, who also appeared in "The Beast," "Without a Trace," "Judging Amy," and more, died during a trip to her family's cabin in Wisconsin.
She is also survived by a brother.
