Lindsay Lohan's 5 Possible, Career-Boosting Rebounds

Newly single LiLo could find new love, revamp career with one of these stars.

April 21, 2009 — -- Meet the newly single Lindsay Lohan. Odds are that she'll last about as long as a carton of milk.

She split with DJ Samantha Ronson little more than two weeks ago and, already, the 22-year-old starlet has grieved and gone on to greener pastures. She cried to Us Weekly magazine about feeling "so alone" and she poked fun at her dating woes by taping a fake eHarmony ad for FunnyOrDie.com.

And, now, Lohan's jumping back in the saddle, reportedly meeting potential boyfriends in earnest.

U.K.'s the Mirror reports Lohan chatted up a guy at the grand opening of Las Vegas' "Peepshow," Spice Girl Mel B.'s new striptease production, during the weekend. Prior to that, tabloids romantically linked Lohan to Leonardo DiCaprio.

Meanwhile, Lohan's father Michael asserts that she's looking for new projects, something to jump-start a once promising career derailed by DUIs and rehab stints.

"She should be with someone who's clean, someone who treats her with respect." he told ABCNews.com. "But I still think she should find that one big project that could re-launch her career."

Well, then, why not kill two birds with one stone? Hollywood has long been a town of power couples; if she plays her cards right, Lohan can lock down a new love interest and a solid paycheck.

Since every girl can use a little help navigating the dating scene post-breakup, ABCNews.com pulled together a list of five potential matches for Lohan, each of whom could boost her star quotient while offering their love and affection. Here's hoping she doesn't fall off that horse like Madonna.

Leonardo DiCaprio

No, he's not single. Yes, he's more than a decade older than her. Neither fact reportedly stopped Lohan from cozying up to DiCaprio at a Hollywood party last week. "As soon as Lindsay saw Leo, she was like a bee to honey," an unnamed source told the U.K. Sun. "She quickly monopolized his conversation and made sure she had him all to herself."

If Lohan does have the hots for the "Titanic" star, it's hard to blame her. Not only has he headlined a slew of critically acclaimed films, he's also a do-gooder who engages in environmental activism with former Vice President Al Gore.

Similarly, DiCaprio could do good for Lohan's career. With Martin Scorsese as a colleague and mentor, he could introduce Lohan to a man who could help her nab the Oscar recognition she so badly desires. His circle of friends, which includes Kate Winslet and Tobey Maguire, is a treasure trove of advice for Lohan to tap. And the way "LiLo and Leo" rolls off the tongue, it's a match made in tabloid headline heaven.

Of course, DiCaprio's dating Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover girl Bar Refaeli. Despite all his connections, Lohan may need to move on from this Romeo...

Robert Pattinson

... perhaps to a relative Hollywood newcomer like Britain-born Robert Pattinson. Although he's the hot actor of the moment with the "Twilight" franchise in his fangs, Pattinson's a neophyte when it comes to the celebrity dating scene. His last relationship of record was with former model Nina Schubert in 2006.

Pattinson's the same age as Lohan, 22, but has yet to navigate the hotspots and cool clubs for which she seems to have a built in GPS. So this could be a mutually beneficial relationship; he could get her a co-starring role in the next "Twilight" installment, "New Moon," while she could show him the ins and outs of young Hollywood.

Zac Efron

Moving from one end of the spectrum to the other, if Lohan wants to ride someone else's coattails to rehab her pop culture reputation, Zac Efron could be her guy. If any young star has cache with movie-goers, it's Efron. The "High School Musical" heartthrob proved his charisma with tweens extends to older audiences when his latest film, "17 Again," raked in $24 million in its opening weekend.

The 21-year-old Efron can also teach Lohan a thing or two about avoiding less-than-flattering media coverage. After seven years in the spotlight, he's still squeaky-clean and scandal free. Of course, if Lohan's interested in going this route, she'll have to hope Efron's relationship with fellow "High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens is nothing but puppy love.

DJ AM (Adam Goldstein)

But maybe hopping from Ronson, who teeters on the fringes of celebrity, to someone right in the thick of the madness would be too drastic a jump for Lohan. Maybe she wants something comfortable, something she knows. With DJ AM, she can stick with someone working in the same field as her ex but upgrade to a chicer circle of friends.

The 36-year-old AM has been booked by A-listers including Demi Moore, Ben Stiller and Jennifer Lopez, all well-connected people with whom Lohan can hob-nob. Like her, he has had his fair share of famous exes, including Nicole Richie and Mandy Moore. And he's teaming up with MTV to launch "Gone Too Far," a reality show on which he'll chronicle his interventions with teens addicted to drugs, all the better to keep Lohan on the straight and narrow.

Drew Barrymore

Sure, the latest reports claim Lohan's back into guys. But maybe her interest in women wasn't just an Anne Heche moment. If she wants to stick with a same-sex relationship, Drew Barrymore might be her girl. The prolific actress has spoken publicly about having been with women in the past. But more importantly for Lohan, she shows that a slew of bad headlines doesn't spell doom for an actress' career.

Like the scandal-scarred starlet, Barrymore got burned by the industry at a young age, the product of Hollywood hangers-on and a fame-hungry mom. She entered rehab at age 13, almost 10 years before Lohan, but went on to dominate the past decade's offering of romantic comedies. Now, with "Grey Gardens," Barrymore's making forays into more serious films. If nothing else, she can show Lohan that for all the drama and breakups it breeds, Hollywood offers a handful of happy endings.
