Did Lindsay Lohan Swipe Bling From a Photo Shoot?

June 16, 2009 — -- Lindsay Lohan has been cast in yet another personal scandal, this time the case of the missing jewels.

Lohan's name has been linked with the mysterious disappearance of nearly half a million dollars of jewels from the set of her London photo shoot for a spread in Elle magazine.

London's Metropolitan police confirmed to the Associated Press that a necklace and a pair of earrings worth around $411,315 went missing after the early June shoot.

The young starlet's involvement in the apparent jewelry heist has not yet been confirmed, according to a police spokesman who refused to say whether Lohan had been questioned in regard to the case.

Elle magazine said in a statement that it "did not believe Lohan was in any way linked to the alleged theft."

Messages left with Lohan's publicist by ABCNews.com were not immediately returned, but the star's rep told People magazine that the actress hopes the jewels are found.

"We inquired and everyone from the shoot is being questioned," Lohan's rep told the magazine. "Hair, make up, stylist ... even photographers. Lindsay hopes they find the jewels. She is happy to cooperate."

This is just the most recent of several incidents that have left Lohan's family convinced she needs help -- and fast.

Her family and people close to her think she could benefit from an intervention by Hollywood's most popular healer: Dr. Drew Pinsky.

"Dr. Drew has what it takes to help anyone that has any kind of problem," Lohan's father, Michael Lohan, told ABCNews.com. "It doesn't have to be drugs, it doesn't have to be alcohol, it can be any kind of emotional or psychological problem."

"She's out there drinking and partying and she should not be doing that," he added. "People see her drinking. She should stay away from it. With the drugs, I think she's in a much better place than she used to be. But I have a problem with her being even on prescription medication."

In addition, sources close to the 22-year-old starlet told ABCNews.com that Pinksy and producers of VH1's "Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew," the reality series that chronicles his treatment of addiction-addled stars, are offering her upwards of six figures to appear on an upcoming season of the show.

Representatives for Pinsky declined to comment last week. In an e-mail statement, a spokeswoman for "Celebrity Rehab" said, "At this point, there is no fourth season. We're currently in production on season three and look forward to its early 2010 premiere."

Lohan's health came under new scrutiny last week when Pinksy issued a grave warning to her via Parade magazine.

"I'm convinced that she'll get sober one day. But I'm afraid that between now and then, she may get a nearly mortal wound of some type," he said. "I'm really convinced that something horrible is going to have to happen to her before she really gets over it and embraces sobriety. She needs to give it up. And it's going to be a while before she does. I have this image that she's going to lose a limb or something before she does. And it scares me."

The 22-year-old starlet fired back at the doctor via Twitter.

"I thought REAL doctors talk to patients in offices behind closed doors," she Tweeted earlier this month, not referring directly to Dr. Drew. "Am I wrong? Hmmmmm. I think NOT! Yay!"

Asked to verify Lohan's Tweet, her spokeswoman told ABCNews.com, "Seems right on and I agree as she isn't his patient."

Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson Back Together?

Meanwhile, it appears Lohan and ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson may be getting back together. The two were spotted catching a flight from London's Heathrow Airport to Los Angeles Monday. Lohan was also seen wearing a diamond ring on her left hand.

A reconciliation could bode well for Lohan. Since confirming her split from her DJ girlfriend in April, the actress' well-being seems to have taken a turn for the worse.

In early April, she told Us Weekly magazine she was in "absolute hell" without Ronson. She then opened up about the breakup to Ellen DeGeneres, saying, "I had no idea what was going on. I just hadn't seen her in like a week. She like disappeared."

Lohan also told DeGeneres that she and Ronson, 31, "are friends" who continue to talk. Her father confirmed last week that the two are still in contact, though he couldn't elaborate on the current status of their relationship.

Lohan also seems to have shed a significant amount of weight in recent months. She flashed a shocking amount of skin and bone while shopping in Los Angeles in April, wearing a halter-cut dress that highlighted the caverns of her shrinking frame. People magazine reported that Lohan's friends and family see her weight loss as a cry for help.

She wasn't always so skinny -- Lohan appeared healthy, happy and at home with her curves in her breakout role in 2004's "Mean Girls." But she seemed markedly thinner at the time of her 2007 DUI arrest, and she appeared to be even thinner last fall.

Her father sees her apparent weight loss as further evidence that she needs help. After getting sidetracked by accusations that he threatened his girlfriend, a matter that he called "twisted" and said is being resolved, Michael Lohan plans to check up on Lohan in Los Angeles this week.

"I think she's stopped eating," he said. "[But] I'm not going to drag her anywhere. No one can. That's the way she is. Lindsay does what she wants."
