Brangelina Baby Could Be the Future Isabella Rossellini or Kate Hudson

May 30, 2006 — -- The birth of Baby Brangelina was as highly anticipated as any monumental event ... the introduction of a new Cirque du Soleil in Vegas ... the election of a new president ... no, make that the next American Idol!

We all love babies, but our desire to be around this newborn, who springs from the loins of two of the world's most beautiful, talented celebrities, is huge.

"How big is baby?" you ask. "Soooo big!"

And just as sure as this baby's first word will be "Namibia," she was here. Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt burst onto the scene Saturday in a very private room of a very private hospital in this very private African nation. Gorgeous Mommy and Handsome Daddy and their famous offspring were reportedly doing fine, despite a voracious press that tried everything from a fake mustache to forged documents to get a peak or snap a photo of the golden child.

When two great natural forces combine, the expectations for greatness are only natural. Mix chocolate and peanut butter and you get a Reese's. Get Rob Thomas working with Carlos Santana and you have "Smooth," their multi-Grammy winning collaboration. Hook Oprah up with any book, anyone, and it's a hit.

So, with an Oscar-winning mama and a papa who's one of Hollywood's cutest and most bankable stars, Shiloh has heavy pressure at home. But when two Hollywood icons get together, is their high-octane genetic mix a surefire recipe for stardom?

There are glowing examples of successes, like the beautifully talented Isabella Rossellini, whose sum parts come from Italian filmmaker Roberto Rossellini and actress Ingrid Bergman. Kate Hudson boasts the parentage of mega actress Goldie Hawn and comedian-producer Bill Hudson.

Ben Stiller is the witty and well-rounded son of the once-comedic powerhouse couple Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara. And how can we not acknowledge Alexa Ray Joel, darling daughter of pop music giant Billy Joel and Christy Brinkley? The daughter of the Piano Man and the Supermodel now has a budding music career.

Apples and Average Joes

We've yet to see what will come from the seedlings of other fierce twosomes who've procreated more recently. For starters, hats off to Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale for the birth of their daughter, who might be fortunate enough to have the looks and pipes of her parents.

Gwenyth Paltrow and Chris Martin have yielded two oddly named tots -- Apple and Moses -- and we've yet to see their potential to wow the entertainment industry.

And, of course, there's the Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes union, which has yielded a bouncing baby girl who may grow up to fall under someone's spell, jump from a couch on TV or become a leading authority on postpartum depression.

Needless to say, there are millions of other beautiful and special children out there who come from your average Joes and Josephines, and they certainly have the potential for greatness, too. It is likely we may never know those kids as well as we'll undoubtedly come to know the kids of these celebrities, whether we want to or not.

So, best of luck little Shiloh. Be all you can be. Do the best you can in life, and don't let the paparazzi bite you in the hiney.
