Actor Patrick Wilson Admits He Was Scared During Premiere of ‘The Conjuring 2’

The spine-chilling, supernatural horror flick "The Conjuring 2" hits theaters tomorrow with Patrick Wilson returning as paranormal investigator Ed Warren.

The sequel follows on the heels of "The Conjuring's" success, the second-highest grossing horror movie of all time. "The Exorcist" remains at the top of the list.

"James Wan, who I've done four films with, who's our fearless director, there's nobody better in the business than him, honestly, and I think what makes him so skilled is not just the way he can craft a scare, but the love that he has for character," Wilson said today on "Good Morning America."

He added: "If you think about it, all the great horror movies, scary movies, they've all got relationships. We've got a husband and wife relationship, we've got a very devoted family, we've got a single mother and her kids, so there's a lot of human elements going on that I think that's what people really gravitate towards."

Based on true events, the film tells the story of Ed and Lorraine Warren, husband-and-wife demonologists, who traveled to London in 1977 to get to the bottom of the notorious Enfield Haunting, where a single mother and her four children were allegedly being preyed upon by demons.

"The unexplained is certainly very interesting to a lot of people and when you're dealing with religion and the flip-side of that, that's pretty scary stuff," Wilson said. "They sort of referred to it as England's Amityville. This was the most documented case and paranormal case in British history so it's a nice way for us to sort of get the Warrens out of America and see how they do, fish out of water, over in England -- and you see that it really is on par with Amityville as far as its importance in that community."

As for Wilson, even he admits that the demonic thriller gives him the creeps.

"Yes, there are several moments that do (scare me)," he said, laughing.
