Adele Honored for '25' Diamond Status

— -- If you needed further proof that Adele’s "25" continues to be a monster hit, here it is: the album has been certified 10-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. That officially makes "25" a diamond-certified record.
The singer was presented with a plaque celebrating the achievement last Thursday, September 22, backstage during her sold-out six-night run at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, which concluded last night.
That’s almost ten months to the day after "25" was released on Nov. 20, 2015.
An album or single has to rack up one million sales and streams to earn platinum certification.
If you’re curious, Adele’s previous album release, "21," in February of 2011 is currently 14-times platinum. Her debut album, "19," has sold over three million copies since its April 2008 release.
