Adele Reveals Why Amy Winehouse Made Her 'Frightened' of Fame

The "Hello" singer reveals why she is frightened by fame.

In an interview with the Rolling Stone, Adele revealed that she is "really frightened" by the notion of fame.

“People think I hate being famous...I don't," Adele said. "I'm really frightened of it."

"I think it’s really toxic, and I think it’s really easy to be dragged into it,” the "Someone Like You" singer said.

“We were all very entertained by [Winehouse] being a mess," Adele explained. "I was f—ing sad about it, but if someone showed me a picture of her looking bad, I’d look at it...that level of attention is really frightening, especially if you don’t live around all that showbiz stuff.”

Adele recently returned to the music scene after a two-year hiatus from the spotlight.

"Hello," the first single from her highly-anticipated upcoming album, "25", broke two Vevo records within its first week, and it's the first song to ever sell 1 million tracks in one week.

Adele's "25" album will be released on Nov. 20.
