Alyssa Milano and Wendy Williams Bump Heads Over Breastfeeding in Public
The actress challenged the outspoken TV host on her views of breastfeeding.
-- Alyssa Milano continued in her role as a "breastfeeding advocate" when she stopped by "The Wendy Williams Show" on Wednesday.
When Wendy Williams said that seeing women breastfeed their children in public made her feel uncomfortable, the actress and mother of two challenged the host's views, which Milano called "not (the) norm."
"I don't need to see that," Williams said of breastfeeding.
"Why?" asked Milano, 43.
"Because I just don't want to," the outspoken TV host replied.
Milano then pressed, "But would you eat under a blanket?"
Williams said she would prefer to breastfeed a child in a private place such as a car, to which Milano asked incredulously, "You would go feed your baby in the car?"
Williams, 51, explained, "I'm a mom also. But breastfeeding is only a particular amount of time. The rest of your life, your breasts are sexual things."
Milano corrected her, saying, "Biologically, they're not made for sexual things, that's what we've done to them."
Later, Williams admitted that she breastfed her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., with husband, Kevin Hunter, for only two weeks because he was "ravenous."
Milano and her husband Dave Bugliari are parents to Milo, 4, and Elizabella, 16-months. The actress often posts photos of her breastfeeding baby Elizabella to her social media accounts.
