2017 AMA nominations announced live on 'GMA'
Ciara appeared on the show to announce the nominees.
-- Nominations for the 2017 American Music Awards were announced today on “Good Morning America,” with Drake, The Chainsmokers and Bruno Mars topping the list of nominees for the world's biggest fan-voted awards show.
R&B singer and two-time AMA nominee Ciara was on hand to announce the categories.
"It's a huge honor and it makes you feel like you've really accomplished something," Ciara said before revealing the nominees.
Pop singer Halsey, who performed on "GMA" today, was nominated for her hit song "Closer" with The Chainsmokers.
"I was hoping, I had my fingers crossed," the first-time nominee said. "It's unbelievable. I think the first television performance I ever did was the AMAs ... having that come full circle is really special."
The 2017 American Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
