Anna Duggar Opens up About 'Betrayal' by Husband Josh Duggar
Anna speaks out about reality star's confessed infidelity and addiction to porn.
-- Despite being heartbroken over what she calls his "betrayal," Anna Duggar continues to stand by husband Josh Duggar.
In an emotional new interview for TLC's "Jill & Jessa: Counting On," Anna, 27, does not hold back about her husband's August bombshell, in which he admitted to being "unfaithful" to his wife and addicted to porn.
"I think it is such a betrayal for a spouse to go through what we're walking through," she said in the clip, while pausing frequently to hold back tears.
"Not only was it a betrayal against me, but it was also a betrayal against those that call themselves Christian because here we were as a Christian couple," she continued. "Everyone was able to see us get married and to vow before God to be loyal to each other, and that loyalty was broken. And so, for my heart, it was just broken."
Anna called Josh, 27, who is currently undergoing treatment, "my first love. He's my one and only," and said her faith has kept them together during this crisis.
"I knew if I went off of what I was feeling, I would turn a mess into a disaster," she said. "In the stun and in the shock of everything, I was just praying, 'God, help me to respond to all of this.' I didn't know what to do. I knew we needed help, and I was just praying God would give the wisdom and the help that we needed to take the next step."
In the video, Anna can be seen taking care of their fourth child, Meredith Grace, who was born soon after Josh first made headlines for actions he called "inexcusable" that happened more than 12 years ago. According to police reports that surfaced years later, Duggar inappropriately touched minor girls, including some of his sisters, who also came forward and spoke about the past incidents.
Duggar later apologized for his "inexcusable" actions.
"Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends," Josh Duggar wrote on Facebook back in May.
Josh's younger sister Jinger, 21, also praises her sister-in-law in the clip.
"Anna is amazing," Jinger said. "She displays to each one of us what it is to have unconditional love, and she's walking through this better than any one of us could have ever imagined."
