Apple (AAPL) Gives Away New U2 Album 'Songs of Innocence' to All iTunes Customers

After U2 performed during the company's big announcement today, they addressed the crowd and said that all iTunes customers will get their latest album "Songs of Innocence" for free. They also debuted the album cover.

The promotion is running through Oct. 13.
"If you are not an iTunes customer, sign up now and get the album," Apple CEO Tim Cook said during the announcement.
"This is our most personal record," U2 frontman Bono added.
Yes, you heard that right, all iTunes customers get the record for free. They just need to sign up.
Cook explained that means that 500 million iTunes customers get this new album for free from one of the most successful bands in the world.
This is the "largest album release of all time," Cooked added. "It's gonna sound absolutely fantastic on your iPhone 6."
