'Bachelor in Paradise': Three Couples Get Engaged
See who broke up!
-- The third season of ABC's "Bachelor in Paradise" ended Tuesday night with not one, not two, but three proposals.
Your newly engaged couples are Lace Morris and Grant Kemp, Carly Waddell and Evan Bass, and Amanda Stanton and Josh Murray.
The fourth couple that made it to the season finale, Jen Saviano and Nick Viall, split, but that was hardly a surprise, since Nick was named the new "Bachelor" last week.
The one-hour episode began with Grant seemingly unsure about his relationship with Lace. He said he had a lot of unanswered questions, which confused Lace, since they'd just gotten matching tattoos the night before.
Grant apparently had more clarity when it was time for the final rose ceremony in Mexico. Lace told him, "I've embraced every moment of being here with you," adding that she was ready to move forward with him.
And Grant was ready to move forward with her: He said he'd never met someone who complemented him so well.
"I love you when you're happy, I love you when you're stubborn, I love you when you're sad, I even love you when you're screaming at me," Grant said. "But mostly, I love you when you're Lace."
Grant dropped to one knee, and the two got engaged.
The Carly Waddell-Evan Bass proposal was practically a forgone conclusion. Evan commented, only half-jokingly, to Carly that his trip to the hospital earlier in the season -- which he used as an opportunity to draw her closer to him -- was a turning point in their relationship.
"I feel like my heart beats to your soul," he said, later adding, "I want to chase after the fairy tales."
Carly admired Evan's relentless pursuit of love. And then, he asked her, "Will you freakin' marry me?"
She said yes.
Though Josh, the ex-fiancé of former "Bachelorette" Andi Dorfman, was slightly concerned about how his romance with Amanda would affect her life with her two daughters, he popped the question, too.
Amanda said at the rose ceremony that the thought of welcoming Josh into her family "makes my heart so full." Josh responded by saying he didn't know what true love was until he met her.
There was no happy ending for Jen, though.
"I feel like something is telling me to say goodbye. I'm so sorry," an emotional Nick told her.
"I just feel like you deserve better than me," he remarked moments later.
Tuesday night's episode ended with updates on this season's cast. Lace moved to San Francisco to live with Grant; Josh moved to Orange County to be with Amanda and her daughters; and Carly plans to move in with Evan in Nashville this December, and has met his kids.
We also learned that Jared Haibon and Caila Quinn have decided to just be friends, and that the other woman in their love triangle, Ashley Iaconetti, "is almost ready to give up on Jared."
Jen appeared on "Bachelor in Paradise: After Paradise" and said she's "doing good" after the sudden end to her romance with Nick.
Nick, the runner-up in the "Bachelorette" seasons that starred Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe, will search for love once again when "The Bachelor" returns in January.
It was announced Tuesday night that "Bachelor in Paradise" will return for a fourth season next year.
