'Bachelor in Paradise' Recap: Joe and Samantha Hatch a Plan to Deal With the Group

Get all the details of this week's dramatic episode.

— -- Joe Bailey further cemented his status as the villain of "Bachelor in Paradise" Monday night.

The drama over his budding romance with Samantha Steffen, which began only after he became involved with widowed mom Juelia Kinney, spilled over from the previous night, with Joe and JJ Lane having a heated exchange.

The argument -- and the episode -- ended with JJ vowing, "I'm going to make him look like the hillbilly he is because he's going to go home with about four missing f***ing teeth."

Earlier, Juelia filled in Samantha on her experience with Joe. But her friend wanted no part of the drama; on the contrary, Samantha tracked down Joe afterward and they got cozy again.

Meanwhile, Tanner Tolbert told Jared Haibon that Joe and Samantha have more of a history than he has admitted. The two confronted Joe, but Samantha shooed them away.

Tanner claimed, "Samantha's in on it. She's been denying that since Day One."

But Samantha insisted to the cameras that she hadn't plotted with Joe before her arrival.

In a somewhat private moment between the couple, Samantha tried to coach Joe on what to say to the others and urged him not to act in a defensive manner.

Joe caught more grief once Tanner informed JJ of the whole situation. JJ, saying he cared for Juelia, met with Joe and suggested that Joe had led on Juelia so he could earn a rose and remain in paradise for Samantha's arrival.

An agitated Joe said he hadn't been playing any games with anyone, adding that JJ should mind his own business. After Joe walked away, JJ issued his "hillbilly" threat.

Ashley sought comfort first by talking with Juelia, and then by playing with some birds and crabs, channeling the "onion girl" personality from her "Bachelor" days.

When JJ wasn't battling Joe, he was spending time with Megan Bell on a yacht and on jet skis.

A new episode of "Bachelor in Paradise" airs next Sunday night on ABC.
