The Beach Boys' 'Pet Sounds' Turns 50

The album features tunes like "Wouldn't It Be Nice," and "Sloop John B."

"Pet Sounds," which features such classic tunes as "Wouldn't It Be Nice," "Sloop John B" and "God Only Knows," is lauded for the complex vocal and musical arrangements devised by singer Brian Wilson and the quality of the songwriting throughout the record.

"Of course I'm very proud of the album and I'm very, very proud of the audience reactions to the album," Wilson, 73, told ABC News.

He added that it was probably the "best job" he ever did with The Beach Boys.

To commemorate the anniversary, Wilson's sonic masterpiece will be reissued on June 10, and will be available in various configurations, including a collector's edition featuring four CDs and a Blu-ray audio disc.
