'Big Brother' Gets First Transgender Contestant

Audrey Middleton will compete in reality show's 17th season.

— -- "Big Brother" is getting its first transgender contestant with the addition of Audrey Middleton.

CBS confirmed Middleton's participation in the reality show in a statement to ABC News.

"Audrey Middleton is a Big Brother super fan who applied online, like many other hopeful Houseguests, and was open about her transition in the application process," a CBS spokesperson said in the statement. "It is customary for Big Brother Houseguests to share personal news inside the house, and Audrey plans to discuss her story with the Houseguests in her own words during the premiere episode on Wednesday, June 24."

A 25-year-old digital media consultant from Villa Rica, Georgia, Middleton described herself as "radical, fun, and intelligent," in her official "Big Brother" bio.

As much as Middleton loves nature, she enjoys dressing up more.

"I love to get dressed up and go out. I like to put a lot of effort into my appearance," she shared. "Not in a superficial way, but it's one of the most fun forms of self-expression for me. Fabulous hair, lashes, makeup, I'm the Beyoncé of my life story. As I should be, right?"

Middleton is a big fan of the show and is ready to play the game.

The 17th Season of "Big Brother" kicks off next week, on June 24, on CBS.
