Billy Bob Thornton: 'I Never Felt Good Enough' for Angelina Jolie
The actor opens up in a new interview with GQ magazine.
-- Two months after Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, another one of Jolie's ex-husbands is opening up about their highly publicized marriage.
"Bad Santa" star Billy Bob Thornton said in a new straight-shooting interview with GQ that he "never felt good enough for her."
"I’m real uncomfortable around rich and important people," he added, noting he'd rather hang at home than at some red carpet event.
Although he's still friends with the U.N. goodwill ambassador, and the two talk every few months, Thornton said he didn't feel that he should change to keep their marriage afloat.
"I like how I am," he said.
The two were married for three years before their divorce in 2003. Thornton went on to marry Connie Angland, his sixth wife, in 2014.
Thornton, 61, also spoke about his directing career, including the box office failures of his "Sling Blade" follow-ups, and why he eventually stepped away as a filmmaker.
"It takes too much out of you to write a movie and direct it and spend you know, a year and a half of your life on it and then have people either s--- on it or not see it," he said in the magazine. "Maybe if I make it to 85 or something, I’ll sit around and write a novel."
