Bobbi Kristina Brown's Partner Nick Gordon Leaves Rehab
Nick Gordon checked into treatment several weeks ago.
-- Nick Gordon has checked out of rehab.
The partner of Bobbi Kristina Brown was released last Thursday, a family member confirmed to ABC News today.
"He is doing awesome," said the source, adding that Gordon's family was with him when he left the facility.
Gordon, 25, checked into treatment last month after an interview with Dr. Phil McGraw evolved into an intervention. During their conversation, Gordon, who was intoxicated at the time, revealed that he's been suffering from "panic attacks" since Brown was unresponsive in a bathtub in January. His mother told McGraw that her son had tried to kill himself two weeks earlier by taking Xanax.
"He has blamed himself for the condition [Brown] was in," she explained, adding that her son was also still struggling with the death of Brown's mother, Whitney Houston.
Meanwhile, Brown remains in a rehab facility in Georgia. According to her maternal grandmother, Cissy Houston, the 22-year-old has "irreversible brain damage."
"I have just returned from visiting my granddaughter Bobbi Kristina in the hospital and while she is no longer in a medically induced coma, she has a tracheotomy and according to the doctors, she has global and irreversible brain damage and remains unresponsive," she told People magazine a few days ago.
Her father, Bobby Brown, is praying for her recovery, his wife, Alicia Etheredge-Brown told ABC News last week.
"He is encouraged by the steps that Bobbi Kristina has made since her hospitalization on January 31, 2015. She has made it out of ICU, opened her eyes, and started a rehabilitation that will be long and hard," Etheredge-Brown said in a statement. "I just wish my husband could deal with this most painful and difficult time with people surrounding him who fully support and pray for Bobbi Kristina’s recovery and only her recovery."
