Body Matching Description of Annie Lennox's Daughter's Boyfriend Found, Police Say
"My heart is shattered," she wrote about Ian Jones.
-- Around the same time on Monday that police said they found a body in the Hudson River that matches the description of Ian Jones, Tali Lennox took to Instagram to pay tribute to her boyfriend.
"My heart is shattered. My best friend, my soul mate, my partner in crime & creativity, the LOVE & LIGHT of my life is no longer with me," she wrote. "All the love that has been sent to me is giving me the strength to get through this. I know that he is so so happy that I was safely rescued. Let us honor & celebrate this beautiful soul & keep following the light."
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office said an autopsy will be performed Tuesday on the body that was discovered to determine the cause of death and confirm identification. The body was found around noon near the Poughkeepsie Yacht Club, police said.
"The body matches the description of Mr. Ian Jones," Capt. John Watterson told ABC News in a statement. "While there is a strong possibility that the body recovered is that of Mr. Jones, it remains only a possibility at this time."
A search had been underway to find Jones, 32, after he and Tali Lennox, 22, fell into the Hudson River on Saturday in New York after the couple's tandem kayak capsized. Lennox, a model and the daughter of famed musician Annie Lennox, was rescued but Jones was not found.
It was not clear what led to the capsizing, but police said they don't suspect foul play.
