Bridesmaid Sisters Deliver Epic Musical Toast to Bride
The wedding guests were on their feet cheering and clapping.
-- There are wedding toasts that make you cry, toasts that make you cringe and then there is this wedding toast from two sisters in California that will never be forgotten.
The sisters, Kelsey and Maddie Hallerman, delivered an epic, six-minute bridesmaids’ toast to their sister, Mrs. Caitlin Weaver, the bride, all in song.
“We’ve been living in your shadow but it’s time for us to step into the spotlight,” Kelsey says at the beginning of the toast.
And did they ever.
The Hallerman sisters kicked off the toast with Tracey Chapman’s “Give Me One Reason,” and then explained how Weaver first met her husband, John, as a kid, with the Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back.”
They used “Everybody” by the Backstreet Boys to describe Caitlyn and John’s first date at the University of Southern California and Michael Jackson's "Black or White" to describe how John proposed to Caitlyn.
The duo then brought the house down with a rendition of the gospel hymn “O Happy Day” to describe the couple’s wedding day.
The bride is seen in the video using a cloth napkin to wipe tears of laughter from her eyes, while her groom looks on with humor and amazement.
Guests at the California-based couple's June 19, 2015, wedding in Lake Tahoe, California, were clapping and cheering throughout the toast. At least one wedding guest can be heard in the background yelling, “I can’t.”
"I showed up and Caitlin was like, 'I don't know what my sisters are going to do for their toast but you might want to capture it. I don't know what they'll do,'" the wedding's cinematographer , Kyle Matheney of Chair7 Films, told ABC News. "They kept it a surprise from everyone."
"Everyone was dying in laughter," Matheney said of the toast. "It was the greatest thing I'd ever seen."
