Don't Call Princess Leia 'Princess' Anymore
She takes on a very different persona in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
-- Princess Leia is no more, kind of.
Carrie Fisher’s classic character will take on a totally different persona in "The Force Awakens," according to director J.J. Abrams.
First, she dropped the Princess in her name.
“She’s referred to as General,” Abrams told Entertainment Weekly. “Bu...there’s a moment in the movie where a character sort of slips and calls her ‘Princess.’”
Abrams continued, "The stakes are pretty high in the story for her, so there’s not much goofing around where Leia’s concerned."
Abrams said Leia's under a ton of pressure in the new film and "committed as ever to her cause, but I would imagine feeling somewhat defeated, tired, and pissed.”
Long live General Leia.
