How Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher Make Their Marriage Work
Fisher has a ritual when Underwood is working on her music.
May 1, 2014 -- When Carrie Underwood is writing or recording an album, her husband, Mike Fisher, knows just what to do.
"I stay out of her way. I go golfing or go fishing or something," the pro hockey player told US Weekly of his ritual when she's in work mode.
Confirming the routine, Underwood says "He stays away. That whole creative process is such a weird thing, and I've talked to other people in the music business and friends and what they do and we all kind of have our own 'isms.’"

The six-time Grammy winner, 31, has been busy working on her new album, so Fisher, 33, probably has been fishing a whole bunch lately.
"I've been writing quite a bit, it's exciting," Underwood said. "It definitely has a different sound. There are some thematic things that are quite different. I love strong women. So I want things that I can get on stage and just feel empowered."
When the country star and her husband actually do get some time off to be together, Underwood said, she likes to relax and be with friends and family.
"I like to be able to go fishing or be on a boat with friends, grilling, you know, and a beer or something," she said.
