Celine Dion Returns to Caesars Palace With Newly Revamped Show Tonight
The singer put her career on hold to help care for her ailing husband.

After putting her career on hold last year to care for her ailing husband René Angélil, the singer will return to the Las Vegas stage tonight with a new show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
"I cannot wait," she told ABC News, adding that 30 to 40 percent of the show will be new. "It’s been a while and, as you know, I still love performing so much," she said.
Dion, 47, announced last August that she was canceling her Las Vegas shows and a tour of Asia to care for Angélil, who has throat cancer, and their three sons. However, she wanted to return to performing to honor her family and her fans, she told ABC News earlier this year.
"We have a ticket to live. We have a ticket to ride," she said in April. "We’re living, so live. Let’s go.”
The new show will feature a new band leader, 30-something musicians (including a few new faces), and a revamped set list. Replacing the likes of Billy Joel's "Lullabye (Goodnight My Angel)" and Journey's "Open Arms," will be more of Dion's own hits.
"When you’ve been 30-something years in the business, you have good repertoire to choose from, so why not choose from my own songs?" she said. "I'm looking forward to it."
