Celine Dion's Brother Daniel Dies From Cancer
The singer's brother passed away days after her husband's death.
-- Celine Dion's older brother Daniel died Saturday after a battle with cancer, according to a press release from the singer's publicist. He was 59.
The singer's brother died in a palliative care residence outside of Montreal just two days after her husband of more than 20 years, René Angélil, passed away after a lengthy battle with the disease. He was 73 years old.
The release stated that Daniel Dion was "a gentle and reserved man of many talents."
A viewing for Daniel Dion, a father of two, is set to take place Jan. 23 in Repentigny, Quebec.
On the same day as her brother's death, Celine Dion, 47, revealed that her husband's funeral will be held in the same cathedral in which they wed back in 1994 -- Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal. Angélil's funeral is set for Jan. 22.
