Champion Serena Williams ‘Felt Cool and Calm and Collected’ During Wimbledon Final

— -- Serena Williams made history this weekend when she won a seventh Wimbledon singles title and her 22nd Grand Slam title.
Williams tied the record set by Steffi Graf for most major championships in the Open era, which began in 1968. Williams now stands behind only Margaret Court's all-time mark of 24 titles.
"GMA"'s Lara Spencer talked with Williams after her record-setting win, and the 34-year-old explained that she felt "very comfortable" during the finals game on Saturday against Angelique Kerber.
"I just felt cool and calm and collected," Williams said.
"The whole time?" Spencer asked.
"Yeah, pretty much," Williams replied.
She described the moment when the match ended and she dropped onto the grass.
"It felt so good. It really did," she said. "Every time you win Wimbledon, it's such a great feeling, you know?"
From her position lying on the grass she raised her arms and pointed one finger of each arm –- a gesture signifying "22" for having tied Graf's Grand Slam record.
"It was awesome," Williams said of the moment. "I mean, I still really can't believe it -- that I have 22 titles ... I still get a little lost for words when I think about it."
After her victory over Kerber, Williams teamed up with her sister, Venus, to win their sixth doubles final at Wimbledon.
