Charlie Sheen Lawyer Calls Capri Anderson's Claims of Abuse a 'Pack of Lies'

Nov. 23, 2010— -- Porn actress Capri Anderson threatened Charlie Sheen with a television appearance full of lies if the top-rated television actor didn't pay for her silence, Sheen's lawyer alleged today, firing back at Anderson's claims that she feared for her life during last month's altercation at the Plaza Hotel in New York City.
"They told us that if we did not write them a check that they were going to go on the air and they were going to lie about what occurred that night in the Plaza Hotel room," Sheen's attorney, Yale Galanter, told "Good Morning America" today.
Anderson and her attorney appeared on "Good Morning America" Monday to say that she would be filing a criminal complaint against the "Two and a Half Men" actor, alleging that Sheen abused her and threatened to kill her the night police responded to the posh hotel and found Sheen disoriented and reportedly naked while Anderson was hiding in the bathroom.
Sheen's camp responded later in the day with an extortion suit, claiming Anderson asked for $1 million to keep her story out of the media. It also alleged that Anderson stole a $165,000 watch from Sheen's hotel room.
"This girl has just changed her story. She has absolutely no credibility," Galanter said of Anderson's appearance Monday. "It's totally untrue. It's complete fabrication. It's just a complete pack of lies."
Anderson is scheduled today to meet with a New York district attorney who is considering a second-degree harassment charge against Sheen. Although rarely enforced, a conviction could mean 15 days in jail.
Anderson's attorney, Keith Davidson, sent a statement to ABC News late Monday condemning Sheen's extortion suit and calling it "utter nonsense."
"It is a thinly veiled attempt to distract the public away from the true facts of this heinous case is astounding," the statement read. "Mr. Sheen's well-practiced damage control team of bullies and enablers will stop at nothing so long as their goal of keeping the public's head in the sand about their dangerous client is met."
Despite telling "Good Morning America" that she feared for her life after Sheen allegedly put his hands around her neck and threw things at her in his room at the Plaza Hotel, Anderson waited nearly a full month to go to authorities.
"The fact that any victim would wait a month and announce her story on "Good Morning America" just belies imagination," Sheen attorney Galanter said.
But Davidson said Monday that "the process of coming here, speaking to you, the passage of time, that has allowed her to be empowered."
Criminal defense attorney Stuart Slotnick said the delay in filing a police report may bolster Sheen's case.
"She told police one story the night of incident, she refused medical attention," he said. "She has some serious credibility issues."
Galanter said, "The reason she wanted to get out of that hotel room was because she had Charlie's watch hidden on her and she didn't want to get caught."
Anderson has denied stealing Sheen's watch.
Anderson herself alleged extortion Monday, claiming Sheen sent her a text message the day after the incident, offering her $20,000 for her silence.
Galanter confirmed there were a series of text messages sent back and forth, but denied there was ever such an offer. Anderson, he said, was complaining about a damaged purse and Sheen offered to pay her whatever money she was out for the evening.
"They wouldn't show you the text message or e-mail or whatever they alleged to have," Galanter said.
And while Anderson claimed she was paid simply for a dinner appearance with Sheen and his entourage -- including his ex-wife, Denise Richards -- Galanter countered that "she was hired to be the entertainment for the evening."
Both sides agreed Anderson was never paid to have sex with Sheen.

Anderson threatened her own civil suit on Monday, but it has yet to be filed.
"I never expected the night would unfold the way it did," she told "Good Morning America" Monday.
"He definitely was growing more intense as the night grew and went on. It's hard to say being that it was my first time hanging out with him if it was normal of his everyday behavior or not," Anderson said. "He seemed like a very egotistical person."
Anderson said she spent most of the dinner on Oct. 25 speaking with Richards. After Richards left the dinner and the rest of the group -- Anderson and Sheen included -- went out for drinks, Anderson said she was asked by a friend of Sheen's' to escort him to his hotel room and make sure he stayed there.
"At this point he was fairly intoxicated," she said.
"I was sitting on the edge of a coffee table and he was serving us both drinks and he was snorting something," Anderson said, adding that she doesn't know what he was using, but that it was a "white powdery substance."
"There was a little bit of romance, if you will," she said. "In the moment a lot happened."
But with her dress removed, Anderson, who admitted she was in the room willingly, said things took a turn for the worse.
"When I became really uncomfortable is when he put his hands around my neck," she said.
Anderson said Sheen became incensed when she begged for him to release her.
"He started throwing things. He threw a lamp. That was the first thing he picked up," Anderson said, her voice cracking. "And he threw it across the room at me."
"When he started throwing things at me I became shocked, scared," Anderson said.
Galanter initially responded to Anderson's allegations Sunday night in a statement to ABC News.
"Ms. Capri never made any allegation of wrongful conduct on the part of Mr. Sheen the night of the incident. She has posted on her website that she was 'fine' after the incident but if you wanted to see more of her enter the web site for money," Galanter said. "We will defend this lawsuit vigorously and will never pay her a dime. These allegations against Mr. Sheen are completely false, and are a blatant attempt to cash in on his celebrity."

Anderson told "Nightline" that she feared for her life.
"He was, from the beginning of the night, very loud and he had no hesitations when it came to using derogatory language or cuss words," she said, adding that "towards the latter half of the night, it got really bad. He started yelling racial slurs."
"He threw the lamp against the wall in my direction … And once the lamp flew, it was like there was just stuff coming from every angle. He was just -- anything he could pick up, he was trashing the place," she said.
Photos obtained by TMZ show a rumpled bed and strewn chairs. One of the chair legs appears to be broken.
When police officers arrived at the famed luxury hotel, they found Anderson locked in the bathroom of Sheen's suite. Police said the room had been trashed. Sheen was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
"He was calling me a whore a lot. And he was yelling things like, you F-ing bitch. If you don't come out here, I'm going to kill you. If I get in there, you're going to be sorry. If I get in there, you ... whore, you whore, whore. Like he just keep screaming and slamming on the door," she said.
Anderson also tells "Nightline" that she did not know Sheen's children were on the same floor in the hotel.
Anderson told "Good Morning America" she was never paid the $3,500 she was promised for attending the dinner with Sheen.
