Cheryl Hines Reveals What It's Like to Join the Kennedy Family
The actress dishes on what surprised her most about them.
June 4, 2014 -- Cheryl Hines is poised to marry into the closest thing this country has to royalty.
Robert F Kennedy Jr. popped the question early last month and his new fiancee told People magazine earlier this week that she was actually "surprised" when he proposed.
"It's very sweet. There are a lot of people that are excited about it," the 48-year-old actress said. "It feels great because you know you're going to be with the person you really like to be with for a very long time."
Hollywood's Biggest Engagement Rings
The two have been together about two years, but details of when they will tie the knot are still up in the air.
"We're trying to get all the kids graduated from school, on to college, that sort of thing," Hines told the magazine. "We're getting ready for summer. Lots of sailing and swimming and lots of activities. Everyone moves together as a group. It's a little bit of chaos at times. But it's great."
Hines also touched on becoming one of the Kennedy clan.
"I come from a big family, and the Kennedys are a big family. It feels natural," the "Suburgatory" actress said. "When I met them, they were all very genuine and gracious. I was surprised. I didn't know what to expect or who they are. They're the most generous people I've ever met."
