Christian Bale Says He's 'Looking Forward' to 'Batman v Superman'
Bale portrayed Batman in Christopher Nolan's trilogy series.
-- Christian Bale is revealing his true feelings on the upcoming "Batman v Superman" film.
In an interview with "Entertainment Tonight," Bale revealed that he is actually looking forward to the film, and had nothing but positive things to say about actor Ben Affleck's portrayal of Batman in the upcoming movie.
"Everyone brings their own element to it -- Ben will do that as well," Bale said.
Bale, 42, played the iconic superhero in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, which included "Batman Begins" in 2005, "The Dark Knight" in 2008 and "The Dark Knight Rises" in 2012.
Bale's performance as Batman was widely-acclaimed, and many fans of the series believe that no one can top it, including actor Morgan Freeman.
Freeman, who starred as Lucius Fox in Nolan's Batman trilogy, told "ET" in a previous interview that while he is happy that Affleck is starring as Batman, he's not convinced the other Batman reboots will live up to Nolan's vision.
"You know, I'm happy for Ben, but I don't know how that's gonna work. Because 'The Dark Knight' was almost 'it.' Pretty much 'it,'" Freeman said. "Did you see 'Batman Begins'? I don't think you can beat that."
Bale was flattered after hearing about Freeman's praises but said the trailers for "Batman v Superman" have piqued his interest in the new film.
"I think the trailers are looking great and I'm looking forward to that. But right on for Morgan for saying no one will ever beat that, I very much like him," Bale said.
"Batman v Superman" will be released in theaters on March 25.
