Christina Milian on How Motherhood Has Changed Her
Singer and actress is mother to 5-year-old Violet.
Jan. 19, 2015 -- Christina Milian's life changed when she had daughter Violet.
"At the height of my career everything was fast and fun. It took one kid to change that all up," Milian said in a sneak peek of her new reality series, "Christina Milian: Turned Up."
"When I took time off to raise Violet, my career hit a screeching halt."
Her new E! show, which premiered Sunday, is about reviving her career after the long hiatus.
It's also about living and working with three generations of family: her mother and manager Carmen, sisters Danielle and Liz, and her "crazy, funny, really sarcastic" daughter with ex-husband The-Dream.
"The second that she was born, it was, like, instantly I became a child again," the singer and actress said of Violet, who turns five next month, in another clip from the show.
"It’s like I see the world with new eyes: Not only is this my life to live, this is for my daughter," Milian, 33, continued. "If you really go into it with the mentality that you can do it and this has all been placed into your life for a reason at this time, then, hey, you gotta go with it."
Said Milian of the series: "I'm excited to get back out on stage and for the world to hear the songs I'm writing right now. This is my last chance. I know what I want. Nothing's going to stop me now.”
