CMA Awards 2016: Beyonce Performs With the Dixie Chicks
The "Lemonade" singer appeared sang her song, "Daddy Lessons."
-- The worlds of country and pop music collided Wednesday night in Nashville at the 50th annual Country Music Association Awards, when Beyonce took to the stage with the Dixie Chicks.
The 35-year-old "Lemonade" singer was among the stars paying tribute to 50 years of country music history.
In a much-anticipated performance, Beyonce sang her track "Daddy Lessons" with the Dixie Chicks, which consists of Natalie Maines, Emily Robison and Martie Maguire.
Having grown up in Texas, Beyonce is no stranger to country music. Many think her song "Daddy Lessons," from her critically acclaimed album "Lemonade," has a country flavor. It even earned a cover from Dixie Chicks during one of their tour stops earlier this year.
This is also not the first time Beyonce has joined with country stars on stage. In 2008, she appeared with Sugarland at the American Music Awards to perform her hit song "Irreplaceable."
Having superstar pop artists sing on the CMAs isn't unusual, either. Last year, Justin Timberlake stopped the show during a duet with the night's big winner, Chris Stapleton.
