Coldplay pens a song for Houston in light of Hurricane Harvey

The band canceled its Houston show last Friday.

On Monday, the band performed a song called "Houston" which was dedicated to fans in the beleaguered city.

"So, if you'll bear with us, this is a new song and we'll never play this again. It's a once-off and it's called 'Houston.' We're gonna sing it in Miami for everybody here, and then we're gonna send it over there to everyone who missed the show [in Houston]," he said.

The song's lyrics include the lines, "From Miami, we are sending love to Houston/We're praying that you make it through the rain/I know nothing's gonna break the will of Houston/Oh, how we can't wait to go down there again."

Coldplay was scheduled to perform in Houston last Friday, but canceled the show in the interest of protecting the safety of its fans.
