Complete Winners List: Critics’ Choice Television Awards

"Orange Is the New Black" and FX’s "Fargo" were the big winners.

June 20, 2014 -- The Netflix series "Orange Is the New Black" and FX’s "Fargo" were the big winners at Thursday’s first awards show of the summer -- the fourth annual Critics’ Choice Television Awards. Each series won three awards apiece.

Orange Is the New Black won best comedy series, best supporting actress in a comedy series for Kate Mulgrew and best guest performance in a comedy for Uzo Aduba.

Fargo was named best miniseries and star Billy Bob Thornton won the trophy for best actor in a movie or miniseries. Fargo star Allison Tolman won best supporting actress in a movie or miniseries.

The Critics’ Choice Television Awards ceremony was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and hosted by Cedric the Entertainer. The event was broadcast on The CW network.

The organization behind the awards, The Broadcast Television Journalists Association, named Breaking Bad best drama series for the second consecutive year.

Matthew McConaughey won best actor in a drama series honors for his role as Detective Rust Cohle in HBO’s True Detective, while Tatiana Maslany of BBC America’s Orphan Black was named best actress in a drama series.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus won best actress in a comedy for "Veep" and Jim Parsons of "The Big Bang Theory" was named best actor in a comedy.

Parsons presented the Louis XIII Genius Award, which honors a TV icon, to writer/producer Ryan Murphy for his work on "Glee," "American Horror Story" and "The Normal Heart."

Allison Janney went home with two trophies and the award for the best line of the evening. When she went onstage to collect the award for best guest performance in a drama series for her work on Showtime’s "Masters of Sex," she was speechless for a moment and then blurted out, “I just came.” Janney also tied "Orange Is the New Black" star Kate Mulgrew for best supporting actress in a comedy for her work on the CBS series "Mom."
