Country Music Star Kenny Chesney Promises Good Music, Energy on Coming 2015 Tour
Kenny Chesney talks to “GMA”’s Robin Roberts about his 2015 tour and new album.
-- Country music superstar Kenny Chesney will go back on tour next year after taking a year off to work on his hit album, “The Big Revival.”
In an interview with “Good Morning America” co-anchor Robin Roberts, Chesney, 46, said he has missed being on the road.
“I made a conscious choice to take the year off the road because I knew that I -- the record that I had in mind that I wanted to make, I knew I couldn't just mail that in,” he said. “I couldn't do it balancing both worlds of being on the road and trying to be creative in the studio.”

The “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems” singer said his year off from the road “felt great.”
He said he hoped people responded well to “The Big Revival,” which was released in September. It was his 16th studio album.
“The title alone really did hit straight to the heart to how I felt in this year off, in the studio, and making this music that I -- that I really hope that will … rattle the audience's cage,” he said.
As for next year, Chesney said he was excited at the prospect of returning to touring.
“I get asked a lot, you know, ‘What do you miss the most--this year? What's the one thing that you can't really live without?’”
He replied: “It's the first note of every night. That's the thing that's anticipated the most by us as a band and as a road family, it's the shared moment, that first time you see each other. And that's my favorite part of the night. And that's what I've missed the most and what I'm looking forward to the most about 2015."
The tour will be called The Big Revival Tour and it'll stop in about 55 cities, Chesney said. About 20 of those stops will be stadium shows, while the others will be in arenas or amphitheaters, he added.
When Roberts asked Chesney how he’s kept the passion going, the singer said it’s all about fun.
“We … have a blast,” he said. “It’s a lot of work. But you know what? It’s a lot of fun, too. And that's the motto that we've all lived by out there on the road that built No Shoes Nation in the first place, is we work hard and play harder.”
To his fans, Chesney expressed his thanks for their appreciation of his music.
“I can't wait to be out there and to touch their hands again...and feel their energy,” he said.
He promised that the tour would be filled with good music, passion and energy.
