Is Crossbones Alive After 'Captain America: Civil War'?

Spoilers -- Frank Grillo teases a possible comeback.

— -- (SPOILER ALERT)

Frank Grillo, whose Crossbones (Brock Rumlow) character apparently met his end in the opening of "Captain America: Civil War," says looks can be deceiving.

During a chat with ABC News about his new movie "The Purge: Election Year," the conversation shifted to Grillo's Marvel movie fate.

"You think he dies, don't you?" Grillo said, smiling, before adding, "Did you see the body?"

"What did you see?" he asked.

Technically, you don't see his body, but the blast, and presumably his corpse, rips through a building, killing innocents.

You'd figure Crossbones was a goner, but this was the same character who survived -- albeit scarred -- in the climax of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" when he was caught in a collapsing building.

"That happened last time," he said coyly, about his apparent end. "I'm not saying anything except that ... you didn't see a body."

Feigning nervousness that he spoiled a secret, Grillo said with a laugh, "Is anybody else listening to this??"

Grillo signed a multiple movie deal when he joined the Marvel cinematic universe, and he says he's up for more if they'll have him back.

"The Purge: Election Year" opens Friday.

Marvel is owned by Disney, the parent company of ABC News.
