Demi Lovato and Ruby Rose Honored at GLAAD Media Awards 2016

— -- Forget the red carpet. The stars strutted down the blue carpet Saturday night at the 27th GLAAD Media Awards in Beverly Hills.
Demi Lovato and "Orange Is the New Black" actress Ruby Rose were among the honorees at the ceremony, which will air on the Logo network Monday.
During her acceptance speech for the Vanguard Award, which was presented to her by Nick Jonas, Lovato said she was raised to accept people for who they are.
"I knew if I ever made it as a singer I needed to use my voice for so much more than just singing," she said, according to Variety. "People have the right to love who they want to love."
The GLAAD Media Awards, which honors films, TV shows and journalists who further the organization's mission centered on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, also awarded films such as "Carol" and HBO's "Bessie."
"Transparent," "The Bold and The Beautiful," and "Sense8," which was created by transgender director Lilly Wachowski, also received awards.
Other celebrities to support the awards show included Queen Latifah, Judith Light, Patricia Arquette, Paula Abdul, Nene Leakes, Lea Michele, Derek Hough and Zendaya.
