Destiny’s Child Together Again for Michelle Williams’ ‘Say Yes’
Michelle Williams has a new song, and she enlisted members of her former group.
-- Singer Michelle Williams has a new song out, called "Say Yes," and she enlisted the help of her former Destiny’s Child group members Beyonce and Kelly Rowland on the tune.
“Working together with Destiny’s Child again was amazing,” Williams said today live on “Good Morning America” after the music video for "Say Yes" debuted. “I am just so moved by this moment right now and to have my girls on there."
Williams, 33, said being back on set with her former band mates was “so much fun.”
“Sometimes the director or production assistants had to say like, ‘OK, girls, bring it back home. Bring it back together because when we were together, we go back to how we were when we were younger, just always laughing and talking about things,” she said. “It’s been a great moment.”
The song comes from Williams’ upcoming album, “Journey to Freedom," out Sept. 9, which she said is about her "personal journey to freedom."
"Freedom from what was probably keeping me from being my best. It could have been bad relationships, business and personal wise. Not feeling all the way confident within myself,” Williams explained on "GMA." It's about breaking “free from whatever it is that’s keeping you from being the best person you can be.”
Williams is a Grammy Award-winning singer and accomplished stage actress who has appeared in productions including “Aida,” “The Color Purple, “Chicago” and “Fela.”
