Devin Ratray from 'Home Alone' Talks Life on Set With Macaulay Culkin
Devin Ratray opens up about what it was really like shooting the iconic film.
-- Ever wonder what life was like on the set of "Home Alone"?
Well, the actor who played Buzz, Devin Ratray, spoke to Bustle about what life was like 25 years ago on the set of the Christmas movie starring Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, the young boy left at home while his parents jet off to Pairs.
"We all got along rather well and got closer and closer during film production... it was long hours but there were a lot of funny takes, and we were happy and lucky to be there," he told the site.
Since that time more than two decades ago, Ratray said people have been mentioning their love for the film.
"People felt a familial relationship with me when they would see me on the street... they truly felt like I'd been in their homes during some of the most quiet, intimate Christmas mornings of their lives," he said.
He also talked about the mega success Culkin experienced in those days during the original "Home Alone" and the sequels that followed -- so much so that the young actor needed a bodyguard.
"Macaulay seemed totally at ease though and almost relieved when he was on set with us. He could actually just continue to be himself and continue to be a little kid without any scrutiny or cameras or anything," he added.
