Drew Barrymore: What She Said About her Post-Baby Body
Barrymore is the mother of two girls, ages 2 and 11 months.
-- For every star who seemingly bounces back to her pre-pregnancy size six weeks after giving birth, there's Drew Barrymore to keep it real.
The 41-year-old "Miss You Already" star and mother of Olive, 2, and Frankie, 11 months, opened up about her post-baby bod with Glamour magazine recently.
"After making two babies, holy cow, does your body do some crazy stuff! It’s hard to stay positive and love yourself," she admitted. "You feel like a kangaroo with a giant pouch; everything’s saggy and weird. But you think about how beautiful it is that you’re able to make children."
She added, "When I lose sight of that, I exercise, read Dr. Seuss’s 'Oh, the Places You’ll Go!,' and spend time with my kids. Then I start to see things that are bigger than myself."
Last December, Barrymore told People magazine that she waited to shed the baby weight.
"It took nine months to build. It should take nine months to get off," she said. "I wanted fettuccini alfredo. I didn’t want a barbell."
Barrymore isn't afraid to look less than perfect in public either.
"You don't always have to look stunning on Instagram," she told Glamour. "I've been makeupless, pregnant, and stuffing food in my face in many pictures; that makes it all the more exciting when I do do something more attractive. I don't like it when everyone looks so perfect all the time. Where's the humor in that?"
