Edward Norton Shares Charming Will Smith Stories From 'Collateral Beauty'

"Collateral Beauty" hits theaters Dec. 16.

The two actors not only had an "easy rhythm" during filming but also shared a lot of laughs, Norton said on "Good Morning Amerca."

"Will has the incredible ability to flip the switch from doing his magic [on screen] ... then being a completely jocular and funny guy," he said of his co-star. "[W]e were both quite obsessed with 'Hamilton' like everybody else in the world and Will ... suddenly you would hear a piece of the soundtrack just start from the corner of the sound stage. Will lives up to his reputation for being a sweet and grounded and very talented guy."

The drama follows a New York advertising executive (Smith) who after a tragedy, seeks answers from the universe by writing letters to Love, Time and Death.

"This is just a tremendous, tremendous group of actors," Norton said on "GMA." "Will's incredibly beautiful performance -- he plays a person who's grieving and the rest of us try to get him out of his paralysis and I think it ends up being one of those films that's in the vein of 'It's a Wonderful Life,' it touches on very serious subjects about what's most important in life, but with a lot of good humor and a little bit of fantasy. It's a really nice movie for the end of the year."
