Emily Blunt Reveals the Family Tradition She's Passing On to Her Daughter
The actress and her husband, John Krasinski, welcomed Hazel earlier this year.
-- Emily Blunt said that as a child, it was a family tradition to read a story before bed.
Now that she's a mother herself, she's making sure to do the same with her daughter, Hazel.
"She's nine months old but she understands. She sits on me, this little thing, and she understands turning a page already and going on a journey," Blunt marveled during an interview with E! News. "I think it's amazing."
Blunt, 31, and her husband John Krasinski, 35, welcomed Hazel this past February. And while the "Into the Woods" star realizes that technology is changing the way we read, she still wants her daughter to appreciate physical books.
"I just want her to have that satisfaction I had as a kid of finishing a book and the chunk of it and the weight of it and putting the book down and it's done," she said. "You want things to be sensory for kids."
It doesn't help either that the actress is a self-proclaimed "dinosaur" when it comes to gadgets.
"I know I have to sort of go with the flow, and this is what's happening and it's this generation," she said. "She's going to teach me more than any computer class, I'm sure!"
