Erykah Badu on Music, Family and Her Children Following in Her Famous Footsteps

She's back!

"They put a lot of trust in me. And it makes me want to perform well," Badu, 45, told ABC News. "It's an awesome creative process just developing it and seeing it come into fruition. It's fulfilling."

And not only for her. Music fans are loving every minute of Badu on stage hosting and all that comes with it. In fact, some are even hitting up social media sites suggesting Badu take it a step further with her own reality show. So could that eventually happen?:

"Too much work," Badu said. Though she seemed pleased with the idea that fans are wanting more -- more Badu on TV and, of course, more music, which many think doesn't come often enough. Badu says she's "working on it. It's a slow burn."

Watch Erykah Badu sing with her daughter Mars:

"They're all different," Badu said of her children. "The littlest one who's 7, she's a gymnast. She's into athletics. My middle one, she is me. And I don't know how that happened, but she, is atomically me, chemically me. And then my son is chemically and atomically his father."

Badu added, "Whatever they want to do, I'll support them. They don't have to be little mes. They can do whatever they want. I'm just grateful that they support me while I do this. Mama goes to work and they're understanding and they're grateful. This is the life they understand and know. If they choose to be an entertainer or performer I would support them wholeheartedly the same way they've supported me."

You can see Badu hosting the 2016 Soul Train Music Awards this Sunday on BET and Centric.
