'Fast and the Furious' and 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Sequels Get Release Dates

Let's just say 2017 is shaping out to be a big year for blockbusters.

Release dates for the next installments of each franchise have been announced.

"Furious 8" will hit theaters April 14, 2017, while "Fifty Shades Darker" will be released on Feb. 10, 2017, according to Universal Pictures. The third "Fifty Shades" film, "Fifty Shades Freed," will premiere on Feb. 9, 2018.

Both franchises have rabid fan bases who are eagerly awaiting sequels.

"Furious 7," which came out on April 3, has already made $300,534,085 domestically, according to Box Office Mojo. Worldwide, it's brought in more than $1 billion.

Meanwhile, "Fifty Shades of Grey" has earned $165,994,130 in the U.S., and $568,810,483 worldwide, the website reported.
