Your Favorite Friends are Back with Central Perk Pop-Up

Along with free coffee and an exact replica of the show's favorite hang-out.

— -- Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Ross, Joey and Chandler are back again – at least in one form. One of “Friends’” main hangouts, fictional coffee shop Central Perk, is coming to life for a limited time in September.

Built to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the still-popular sitcom, Central Perk will be a replica of the set, orange couch and all (perfect for “sofa selfies,” as the press release said).

Viewers will also remember James Michael Tyler, who guest starred on the series as the shop’s deadpan barista “Gunther,” on hand to serve free cups of Eight O’Clock Coffee’s “Central Perk” roast.

There will also be “Smelly Cat” performances, contests and giveaways during the month-long pop-up (September 17 through October 18) in SoHo at 199 Lafayette Street. Diehard fans can also purchase “Friends”-themed merchandise and bags of the coffee brewed on site.
