'Gilmore Girls' Coming to Netflix: A Look Back at How the Series Left Off
Do you remember where the series left off back in 2007?
-- "Gilmore Girls" is coming to Netflix, reviving the TV series centered on single mother Lorelai and the intense bond with her daughter, Rory.
Although there's no word on a title or a premiere date, Netflix confirmed Friday that stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, who portrayed Lorelai and Rory Gilmore respectively, will return to the Amy Sherman-Palladino dramedy.
Scott Patterson, who played diner owner Luke Danes, and Kelly Bishop, who portrayed Emily, are also set to return along with original stars Sean Gunn and Keiko Agena.
The series, set in Stars Hollow, Connecticut, went off the air in May 2007 after seven years.
And just in case your memory is shaky, here's what you need to know about where the fast-talking characters left off nine years ago.
Rory Gilmore
Rory graduates from Yale University jobless, but she does finally meet her childhood hero, journalist Christiane Amanpour.
She then suddenly lands a job as a reporter for an online magazine to follow then-Senator Barack Obama on the presidential campaign trail. And the job starts fast -- Rory needs to be in Iowa in just a few days.
Lorelai Gilmore
Lorelai helps her daughter Rory pack and mentally prep before she heads off on her own. After Rory's going-away party, Lorelai learns it was Luke who worked so hard to put the celebration together. She and Luke kiss, finally reuniting after years of an on-again, off-again romance.
Luke Danes
Luke's diner is still open for business in Stars Hollow and his romantic life is heating up as well since, again, he finally kisses Lorelai.
Emily Gilmore
At Rory's party, Emily tries to rope Lorelai into a loan in an attempt to maintain a connection with Lorelai after Rory's departure.
But Lorelai says they can discuss the loan the next week at Friday Night Dinner -- reassuring Emily that they won't lose their own mother-daughter bond.
Then there's Rory's best friend, Lane Kim, who stays in Stars Hollow to raise her two babies. And Rory's college friend, Paris Geller, decides to attend Harvard Medical School, the school that rejected her as an undergrad.
