Gisele Bündchen Confirms She's Retiring From the Runway
After 20 years, the model reveals why she can't do it anymore.
-- Gisele Bündchen is ready to quit walking down the runway.
The iconic supermodel posted a picture to Instagram today with the message, "I am grateful that at 14, I was given the opportunity to start this journey. Today after 20 years in the industry, it is a privilege to be doing my last fashion show by choice and yet still be working in other facets of the business. #firstrunway #14yearsold."
Today, she is walking for Colcci in Brazil for São Paulo Fashion Week. She made her debut back in 1996 during New York Fashion Week.
The most famous model in the world, 34, also spoke to the Folha de Sao Paulo newspaper over the weekend and said "my body tells me if what I do is worth it, and it asked to stop."
Tom Brady's wife added that she respects her body's wishes.
"Stopping will leave room for other projects I have for myself," she added. "It's not retirement, [I] will keep working, just not on the catwalk."
Bündchen will still model for print.
