Golden Globe Awards 2014: Picks and Predictions

Jan. 10, 2014— -- intro: You can always count on the Golden Globes to be entertaining, especially with the return of hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. But this Sunday, you may also find yourself taking the Hollywood Foreign Press Association a little more seriously.

That's because there seems to be no turkeys -- remember "The Tourist" -- among this year's slate of nominees.

"It's a very strong year," Yahoo! Movies contributing editor Thelma Adams told ABC News. "What you're going to find is really worthy people and movies who would have won in other years, will get shut out this year."

Even on the television side, where the story seems to be the rise of Netflix and its hit series "House of Cards," the Hollywood Foreign Press Association appears to be in sync with the critics this year.

Of course, expect to see your favorite celebrities kicking back with a drink and laughing along with Fey and Poehler.

"They will bring the funny no matter what happens," Yahoo! TV editor Maggie Furlong told ABC News about the hosts.

"What makes me look forward to the Globes is it's a real show and everybody is there to entertain," echoed Adams.
