Gwyneth Paltrow First Comments Since Separation
Actress is grateful for support after split from husband Chris Martin.
March 28, 2014 -- Gwyneth Paltrow broke her silence today for the first time since announcing her split from husband Chris Martin.
In a post today on her website Goop titled "One Bird, Three Meals," Paltrow, 41, wrote in a postscript, "CM and I in deep gratitude for the support of so many," referring to Martin, 37, and signed it with a heart icon.
Among those providing support is Paltrow's close pal Cameron Diaz, who told Extra that she was "proud" of the actress and her estranged husband.

"I think it's actually a very elevated and conscious [decision] and realized statement -- when people like Chris and Gwyneth who really worked hard to be friends and keep the things that are good and work in their relationship, which is being friends and being parents," Diaz, 41, said to Extra on Thursday.
"People go separate ways in other aspects of their life and I think it's really brave of them to phrase it that way," she continued. "Leaving as a couple and deciding to stay together as parents and as friends -- I think it's beautiful."
She added, "I'm so proud of them."
Paltrow announced the breakup of her decade-long marriage Tuesday on her Goop blog.
"It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate," she wrote in a post titled, "Conscious Uncoupling."

"We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate," she added.
In September, Paltrow, told "Good Morning America" that hers was not always an easy marriage and to combat their "big ups and downs," she and Martin "laugh it out."
Now, they're committed to raising their two kids, Apple, 9, and Moses, 7, in a loving environment.
"We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been," Paltrow wrote in her original post.
