'Hamilton' Cast to Perform During 2016 Grammy Awards
The performance will originate from Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theater.
-- Television viewers around the world unable to travel to New York or get tickets to the sold-out Broadway run of the musical “Hamilton” will get a chance to see the cast perform live at this month’s Grammy Awards.
The “Hamilton” cast, including creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda, will perform during the Grammys from the show’s home at the Richard Rodgers Theater in New York City, it was announced today on “Good Morning America.”
“Hamilton” has filled the Richard Rodgers Theater with fans since its Broadway debut last August. The musical about America’s founding fathers is launching a national tour next year, with stops in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Atlanta already announced.
The cast album became the highest-debuting cast recording on the Billboard 200 in over 50 years after its October release, according to the Associated Press.
The 2016 Grammy Awards will air on CBS on Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. ET from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
