Harrison Ford Jokes About Han Solo Auditions: 'Don't Do It'

Ford, 73, played Han Solo in 2015's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

"They are now auditioning a new Han Solo, right," DeGeneres asked, referencing the upcoming films.

"No," Ford said laughing. "Not a new Han Solo. ... It’s worse than that. It’s a young Han Solo.”

DeGeneres noted that there are "a lot of people" auditioning for the iconic role, and asked the 73-year-old actor what advice he would give these young actors.

"Don't do it," Ford deadpans. “First it seems like everything is going swimmingly and you put in 25-30 years and then they just let you go: ‘We’re done with you, thanks very much.'"

Ford remained tight-lipped when DeGeneres pressed for details about the upcoming "Indiana Jones" movie, but the actor insisted it was only because he didn't know any details himself.

"When they tell me, I can come back and tell you," Ford said. "I don't know yet."
