Aug. 30, 2012 -- Holly Madison, the blonde burlesque star, ex-girlfriend of Hugh Hefner and one of the centers of the reality series "The Girls Next Door," will be adding the new role of mother to her resume now that she is now pregnant with her first child.
Madison, the 33-year-old star of "Peepshow," a burlesque show on the Las Vegas strip, confirmed on her Twitter account Wednesday that she and her boyfriend Pasquale Rotella are expecting a baby.
"It's true!" Hunter tweeted, having retweeted a post from gossip reporter Perez Hilton, who had tweeted "Congrats!!!!! RT OMG!! Holly Madison Is Pregnant!!! "
The former Playboy model and employee, who has been with Rotella for nine months, announced in May that she will end her run in the lead "Bo Peep" role in "Peepshow" at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino on Dec. 30.
Rotella, 38, is the CEO of Insomniac Events, a concert and event production company. Insomniac is the organizer of the Electric Daisy Carnival rave, an international annual electronic dance music festival.
An hour after Madison made the announcement on Twitter, Rotella confirmed the news, posting, "Yes the rumors are true...," with a Photoshopped Instagram image of him holding a very pregnant belly.
"My better half and I really appreciate all the love and congratulations! Thank you! We can't wait to meet our beautiful baby," he posted later.
The joyous news comes amid an uphill legal battle for Rotella. In March, the Los Angeles District Attorney announced that the office had indicted Rotella and five others on conspiracy, embezzlement and bribery charges for allegedly stealing millions from the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
The indictment states that Rotella and his associate paid former Coliseum events manager Todd DeStefano $1.8 million to limit payments due to the Coliseum and to ensure use of the venue for their events.
Rotella pled not guilty to the charges in March.
Officials behind "Peepshow," which Madison joined in June 2009, said that they are working with Madison to see how much of that time she'll be performing in the show.
"The producers of 'Peepshow' couldn't be happier for Holly as we know she has had a long desire to become a mother," show officials said in a statement.
Madison began her career as a model, and soon caught the eye of Playboy CEO Hefner, who soon asked her to move into his famed mansion. After appearing in Playboy, she later works as junior photo editor. In 2009 she appeared as a contestant on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" later in her own reality series "Holly's World."
Last year, amid her run in "Peepshow," Madison famously insured her breasts for $1 million.
